Overview

Clubs are the lifeblood of football in Waikato and Bay of Plenty. For most of us, club football is our first and most influential experience of the game we love.

Vibrant and supportive clubs, fuelled by the passion and commitment of volunteers, deliver social and competitive football opportunities for players, coaches and referees of all ages.

For some, that experience at club level is a launch-pad to elite football and for others it is simply a way to keep fit, have fun and belong to a community of like minded people.

While Waikato Bay of Plenty is already working with clubs, some important developments are on the horizon.

New Zealand’s coach education framework continues to expand and become more accessible to clubs of every region and free Small Whites courses are being delivered to parents and volunteers as we train a new army of junior coaches.

The introduction of GoalNet will make registrations cleaner, faster and more convenient for volunteers and fee-paying members and give you free tools to communicate with your members.

In the coming seasons and beginning with junior football, a NZF-endorsed quality mark for clubs will allow clubs to demonstrate to current and potential members their commitment to providing a quality football product, including such things as a player centred philosophy, transparent fees collection, and high-quality age-appropriate coaching.
