Girls and Women’s Month is an initiative running through the month of March designed to introduce girls and women to the beautiful game across New Zealand. With the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 not so far away, now is the time for dreams to begin – this is the perfect time for girls and women to fall in love with the beautiful game.

In 2022, we already have a selection of female-focused events scheduled, with more to come.

Come and join Katikati FC's football Fun Day - hosted by former Football Fern, Wendy Sharp. This event is at Moore Park, Katikati - 9.30am to 11am. Female players aged 5-18 are welcome - beginners and existing players. Contact Wendy on 027 406 1216 or allfour@xtra.co.nz.

A free Girls and Women Skills and Drills Session for 5-14 year olds followed by a Mini World Cup for 15+. Join us down at Fergusson Park from 4.30pm to 6.30pm for some fun with friends, exciting giveaways, and learn some new football skills! 

Festival for girls aged 5-13. Gower Park, Hamilton - 9am to 10.30am. Joinly organised by Melville United, Northern United and Glenview United, in conjunction with NZ Football. Lots of spot prizes to be given away. Running along side our Give It A Go World Cup will be our 15+ female only Give It A Go: Refereeing session. Limited to 20 spaces. Our very own WaiBOP FIFA referee will be answering any questions and you will have an opportunity to blow a whistle in a fun environment.

Cambridge Football Club invites your club to our inaugural Women’s 11-a-side tournament that we are holding on the 27th of March 2022. Full details at the link above.

Hamilton Wanderers will take on Wellington United in the Kate Sheppard Cup final. Venue and time to be confirmed. The match was originally scheduled for March 13 at FMG Stadium Waikato, but was moved due to a Covid outbreak in the Wellington United camp.
