Futsal Premier League

Dear Futsal Family,

WaiBOP and NRF can confirm that we'll be running a condensed Futsal Premier League, and have teams competing in the 2022 revised Futsal SuperLeague.

After two tough, disrupted years for the futsal community with COVID-enforced disruptions and restrictions, we're delighted to get back out on the court together.

We see this as a timely return to play, and a step to supporting and delivering a full futsal pathway as safely as possible for everyone involved.

This initiative is a step towards supporting and running community futsal, junior festivals, youth, and senior community leagues.

It will also lead to opportunities for players, coaches, referees and administrators to get involved at the highest-level futsal competition available in NZ.

More details on the SuperLeague will be released by NZF shortly. Our plan for this season is as follows:

Futsal Premier League

  • 2022 - to be run before the SuperLeague this year, to the highest standard possible and fit to the timeframe available.
  • 2023 - moving to a full futsal calendar with clear separation between SuperLeague and the Futsal Premier League - WaiBOP and NRF will be able to increase the quality of delivery of the FPL

We're really excited to re-connect with you. If you have any questions on this news, just contact:
