What is World Football Week?
World Football Week is a celebration of football’s universal power to unite. On May 23, 2024, FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced the expansion of the festivities surrounding World Football Day (May 25), a day established by a United Nations resolution. This resolution acknowledges the global reach of football, its impact in many spheres, and the space it creates for cooperation.
From May 21-25, 2025, World Football Week invites everyone to come together to play and watch football, enjoying the unique sense of community that comes with it. It’s a time to honour the power of the beautiful game to bring people together and create lasting bonds across cultures.
