Football Development Officer – Women & Girls (Fixed-Term Contract)

Location: Tauranga

Contract: Maternity Leave Cover – 9 months Employment

Type: Full-time / Part-time (Either Full Time or Part time will be considered for the right person)

Start Date: March 2026

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Football Development Officer to provide maternity leave cover and help drive the growth, quality, and visibility of football in our region.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact, working closely with clubs, schools, community partners, and stakeholders to support increased participation, stronger pathways, and positive experiences for players and coaches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support programmes that encourage participation in women’s and girls’ football across all age groups.
  • Work with clubs and community organisations to strengthen female-friendly environments and sustainable development plans. 
  • Support the delivery of coach and volunteer development initiatives, with a focus on female leadership.
  • Coordinate competitions, festivals, events, and activations promoting women’s football. 
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders including schools, clubs, Federations, and community partners. 
  • Monitor and report on programme outcomes and ensure alignment with strategic goals. 
  • Champion a safe, inclusive, and positive experience for all participants.

 

About You

You will be a passionate advocate for women’s sport with strong communication, relationship management, and organisational skills. Ideally, you will bring experience in community sport development, programme delivery, and working with diverse communities.

We’re looking for someone who: 

  • Has knowledge or experience in football development and/or community sport (preferred but not essential). 
  • Is an excellent communicator and relationship builder. 
  • Has a strong work ethic, can work independently, and as part of a team. 
  • Is proactive, adaptable, and solution focused. 
  • Shares a commitment to growing opportunities for women and girls in sport.
