2019 Women's Futsal SuperLeague

Our women will be in action in Wellington this weekend at the Women's Futsal SuperLeague.

Coach Brayden Lissington is confident his team will perform well. "There is a real sense of ambition within our squad. The players want to be the first senior WaiBOP Futsal team to be crowned national champions and, as a byproduct, see more of our squad in and around the Futsal Ferns environment.

"I think it helps having players like Grace Wisnewski in the squad. You know, Grace just helped New Zealand finish 3rd at a FIFA Age Group World Cup. It really helps the players challenge their expectations of the team and of themselves.

"All the teams have had a shorter preparation this year, so Kyle (Wisnewski, WaiBOP's Assistant Coach) and I have done our best to build a playing style that suits our team in a short period of time. We’re really looking forward to getting to Wellington and seeing how we stack up against everyone else."
