Jonny Hill - nominated by Tiana Hill.

"Jonny Hill is an unsung hero of Otumoetai Football Club. Although this nomination is coming from his sister this may seem biased, however, I can reassure you that this only emphasises the nomination, as I have witnessed first-hand the effort and sacrifices that he has wilfully chosen for the club and his love for football.

"Jonny has been a part OFC since 2005. Beyond being a player (and he still is amongst his solid track record of injuries) he has been an active volunteer through coaching, setting up for games/tournaments/events, providing the feed on the BBQ, and being a barman. Currently he is appointed as the Vice-President, he coordinates the annual 5-a-side season, and helps facilitate game day. These things, however, aren’t the guts of why I am nominating him.

"For the past 4-5 years he has become committed to investing in his visions for the club including creating box goals, pushing for tiered seating, designing new kit, revamping of the changing rooms and more, all of which has enhanced the club's pride, atmosphere and experience. This guy is always sprouting up ideas on how to grow the club and its community. And better still, he is active in these visions too.

"Over the years I have heard many comments about Jonny being constantly seen at the club. And this is testimony to his willingness to provide for the club. Living and studying in Hamilton for 4 years didn’t ever stop him from pursuing his intentions toward the club's growth either. He would often make the trip back to the club to work on a project that he had fizzing in his mind. 

"Jonny is a hero for the club because of the weight he pulls, and initiative he takes behind the scenes to make sure the club is providing the best place for players and families, including our own, to connect and grow through a sport that they love. He invests countless hours out of his pocket toward OFC and continues to provide for and enhance the opportunities that the club offers to the community. 

"My brother's investment into OFC, a club that means so much to such a great deal to players the wider community, is inspirational and has heightened the passion I have for everything the game offers!"

Jonny receives a $75 meal voucher from The Barrel Room.
