Craigs Investment Partners is back supporting junior football in 2026, as the sponsor of the of the Craigs Investment Partners Waikato Junior 5-a-side Festival.

The annual festival will be held at Jansen Park, Hamilton, on Sunday 20 September. Entries will open on Monday 13 July.

The event brings junior teams together for a day of small-sided football, with the focus on fun, participation and positive support from the sidelines.

As part of WaiBOP Football’s Positive Vibes Only kaupapa, players, coaches and supporters are encouraged to bring energy, encouragement and respect to the day — with plenty of pink. Positive Vibes Only is all about good sportsmanship, respect, and creating an environment where players can enjoy the game without the pressure of results.

Unlike a tournment, a football festival has no knockout games, tables or grade winners.

The Craigs Investment Partners Waikato Junior 5-a-side Festival is WaiBOP Football’s biggest junior event of the year.  In 2025, the festival brought together 149 teams and more than 1200 junior players at Jansen Park.

WaiBOP Football Development Manager Ken Cresswell says it's a highlight on the football calendar. 

“Five-a-side is fast, fun and full of energy,” Cresswell said.

“It’s a brilliant way for young players to enjoy football in a different format and finish their season on a high. The smaller space and quicker pace demand quick thinking, sharp skills and good decisions.

“It’s a great way for players to learn through play, test themselves in new situations, and grow their confidence. This festival is about enjoying the game, supporting teammates, and trying things out without pressure.”
