Further NWL roles announced

WaiBOP Football is pleased to make the following appointments ahead of the 2018 National Women’s League (NWL) season:

  • Jasmine Quilligan (Assistant Coach, pictured left).
  • Natalie Broadhead (Team Manager, pictured right).

Jasmine Quilligan, WaiBOP Football’s Women’s Development Officer, is pleased she’ll be playing more of a direct role with the side during what will be a challenging campaign. “After being involved in the National Women’s League for the past two years in other capacities, I’m excited this time to be involved in a more direct role on the grass," explained Jasmine. "Being the first year of a double round robin season, this will be a tough challenge, especially in the lead up to the campaign due to the tight turnaround from the winter season.”

“Coaching is my passion and I’m really looking forward to working with and learning from Michael (Mayne, WaiBOP’s NWL Head Coach) over the extended season. I can’t wait to get out onto the field to assist Michael in preparing the team for what I’m sure will be another highly competitive season, again showcasing how far women’s football across the country has come.”

Natalie Broadhead resumes the role she filled with WaiBOP’s NWL side in 2017. “It’s a huge honour to be re-appointed as Manager for this year’s National Women’s League campaign and I'm excited to be working closely with a strong coaching group to support the top female talent in the WaiBOP region," said Natalie. "It's an exciting time for female football, especially in the WaiBOP region, and I'm looking forward to helping ensure this campaign runs smoothly behind the scenes so the coaching staff can focus on coaching and the squad can focus on playing.

"I believe my experience last year has given me the tools to create a smooth transition from winter to summer leagues, even with the tight turnaround timeframe. I can’t wait to get stuck in.”

The revamped National Women’s League is set to get going on September 15 and will contain two full, home and away, rounds for the first time. The two highest-placed sides will progress to a one-off grand final on the weekend of December 15-16, the winner of which will lift the trophy.
