
WaiBOP Football welcomes two new faces to the team over the next week with Cliff Harris and Nico Girard joining the Federation Development team ahead of the 2019 football season.
Both Cliff and Nico will be based out of the Tauranga Sport BOP office and will be responsible for the growth and development of the game in the BOP region as well as providing support to clubs. Cliff will focus more on the female game and futsal, while Nico’s focus will be on Coach Education and player development.
Cliff is a familiar face in BOP footballing circles and starts with us today (Monday January 21) while Nico Girard, who hails from Canada, starts a week later.
Cliff has been involved in football in the western BOP for many years as an administrator and coach. In recent years he was employed part-time by WaiBOP in various roles aso already has an in-depth knowledge of the requirements of the sport within our Federation. He recently completed his OFC/NZF B Licence qualification.
Nico holds a Masters degree in physical education. He is a UEFA B licenced coach, is currently completing his A Licence and is experienced in youth development and high performance coaching in Toronto, Canada.
