This message is for everyone attending Saturday's McDonald's Waikato Junior 5-a-side Tournament at Jansen Park, Hamilton.

Vehicle parking around in the streets around Jansen Park is a significant issue for both neighbouring residents and Hamilton City Council. Residents are quick to complain about parking issues in their street.

We are urging all people attending this year’s tournament to:

• Please do not park across driveways, on grass berms or on broken yellow lines. This prevents vehicle access for residents, who do contact the Council to complain and demand vehicles are towed or ticketed.
• Teams/families should consider carpooling to lessen the number of vehicles parking in the neighbourhood. Why not meet your team mates at agreed sites (homes, clubrooms) and carpool to Jansen Park? This will save you money and is good for our environment!
• Park your car a little further away and then walk a few minutes to Jansen Park, to avoid congestion near the entry/exit points to the ground.
• Please note, the Council will be ensuring that parking regulations are adhered to throughout the weekend.
