Kate Lillas Memorial Bay Day 2025 

The Eastern BOP season will kick off on Saturday, 3rd May with Kate Lillas Memorial Bay Day at Rex Morpeth Park, in conjunction with Whakatane Town AFC.  Please find below links to information regarding the day. First Kicks is held at Athletic Park.

The First Kicks 5th/6th Grade have a compulsory Coach Education session for the coaches at 9am. The skill activities and games then begin at 10am. The morning will run as normal with two skill activites followed by two 12-minute games (please refer to the above Overview and Rules for timings and further information). The First Kicks will be located on the athletics track at Rex Morpeth Park. 

First Kicks activities for the day are Stuck in the Mud (fundamental movement) and Runaway Trucks (attacking & defending). These activites can be viewed on the CoachMate app (once in the app select Practice and then Games to find the activities). To learn more about CoachMate, click here. 

Please note: To accommodate all teams on the pitches we have available at Rex Morpeth Park, this year we’ve had to adjust the game times for 7^th/8^th Grade and 11^th Grade. Please see details below.

• For 7^th/8^th Grade & 11^th Grade games will be 12 minutes one way and played in 15-minute blocks.
• For 9^th Grade & 13^th Grade games will be 15 minutes one way and played in 20-minute blocks.

In 7^th/8^th Grade, one game per round will be played on the athletics field. Please check the draw carefully to see where your team is playing.
