Legacy Select XI Women - WaiBOP Awards 2025


The Football Legacy selections honours players who have made a lasting impact on football in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty. Each has gone the extra mile for their club and the region, inspiring others through excellence, leadership, and dedication. Selection reflects not only performance but also contribution, influence, and the example they’ve set for future generations.

The WaiBOP Awards Night 2025 was held on 18th October, 2025, in Hamilton. The evening celebrated winners from across the WaiBOP leagues from 2025, as well as a number of legacy awards, celebrating 25 years of WaiBOP Football.  

The legacy selections include players, referees and coaches who have made an impact between 2000-2025.

Legacy Select XI Women

Amberley Hollis

Injury forced Amberley into goal for clubs like Claudelands Rovers and Melville United and while she has left the region, she is still playing and won the OFC Women's Champions League Golden Glove award for best goalkeeper in 2024.

Michaela Foster

Michaela came through the Waikato club system, and moved into New Zealand's professional ranks, earning selection for the Football Ferns. She continues her professional career in the UK.

Alex Shadbolt

Alex played for Claudelands Rovers in their glory years 2010-2016. She also turned out for WaiBOP United, and was Assistant coach in 2015 and captain in 2016.

Donna McCutcheon (nee Moxon)

Long-serving Claudelands Rovers midfielder and captain. Donna McCutcheon (née Moxon) represented Force 3 and WaiBOP in the early 2000s and spent many seasons with Claudelands Rovers and has still been seen on first-team sheets in 2025.

Andrea Rodgers

Andrea spent a season with Arsenal before returning to Claudelands Rovers in 2001. She debuted for the Football Ferns in 1994 and finished with 11 caps. In recent years she has featured for several Waikato clubs including Cambridge, Ngāruawāhia United, and Melville United and is the oldest player to score a goal in the NRFL women's championship.

Paige Satchell

Paige grew up in Rotorua and started at Ngongotahā AFC through her junior years, then moved to Rotorua United in her teens. She stepped into senior football with WaiBOP United for three seasons (2014-2016). Her form led to Football Ferns selection in 2016 and a professional career followed

Grace Wisnewski

Grace played her early football with Cambridge and Melville United, before settling at Hamilton Wanderers. She signed with the Phoenix in 2021 and continues her professional career in Europe. After playing for New Zealand at U-17 and U-20 levels, she made her full international debut in 2023.

Susi Peterson

Susi has been a long-time player within the federation, representing age group teams through to senior women's level.

She remains active in the game and continues to influence younger players through her experience and leadership on and off the field.

Olivia Chance

Tauranga-born Olivia came through Claudelands Rovers, starring in their 2010 Women's Knockout Cup win with a hat-trick in the final. A senior international since 2011, she has 40+ caps for the Football Ferns and a long professional career across Europe and Australia.

Maria Anderton

Former Football Fern and long-serving Waikato player. Debuted for New Zealand in 1993. Began playing in Gordonton, representing Waikato at multiple youth levels before club stints with Hamilton AFC, Unicol, Western City, Te Awamutu and Cambridge FC. Captained Cambridge's women's team for 12 years, playing more than 800 games without ever receiving a card. Awarded a Services to Sport Medal in 2014 for her contribution to football. Also coached at U17 and U19 level for Waikato.

Helen Arjomandi (nee Collins)

Became one of the region's most prolific and decorated women's strikers. A consistent goal scorer at the top level, she went on to represent New Zealand as a Football Fern.

 

 

Legacy Select XI Women...Subs

Terri Comber

Waikato-Bay of Plenty midfielder and National League representative for WaiBOP, Terri remains active in regional development.

Kate Loye

Kate was a stalwart for Claudelands Rovers from 2007-2015 and featured for New Zealand at youth level and the Football Ferns.

Maddi Ollington

A dedicated player and leader within the WaiBOP region, Maddi continues to set an example for younger female footballers through her professionalism, attitude, and contribution both on and off the pitch.
