WaiBOP Football Awards evening 2025 a success

Thanks everyone who came along to the 2025 WaiBOP Football Awards, held Saturday 18th October in Hamilton.

It was incredible to have more than 120 people come together and celebrate the players, coaches, referees, administrators and supporters who make up our football and futsal communities.

We celebrated not only winners from 2025, but reflected on the history of the last 25 years and recognised some of those people who have made outstanding contributions to football and futsal in the last 25 years.

We’re especially appreciative of those who travelled to Hamilton from across the region, with people making the trip from Thames, Whakatane, Tokoroa, Rotorua and everywhere in between.

Thank you to our judges, who shall remain anonymous, but who have had some feisty debates along the way.

Thank you to everyone who has been involved in collating all of the historical information and information on our legacy select winners.

Thank you to Inter Football and Print House for your support.

Thanks to our fabulous MCs, Seamus Marten and Alida Shanks

The night had two parts.

First, our 2025 on-field achievement was recognised, along with club awards reflecting the 2025 season.

Second, our Legacy awards, drawn from public nominations, acknowledging both the players and the support behind the players; all of the people who have built football and futsal in our region since 2000.

For those that couldn’t make it, the full list of winners is below.
